Getting the band back together…
Prestige has a long running history on US/Lightninghoof, dating back to the beginning of The Burning Crusade. Before that, under a different name, many of the founders of Prestige raided on US/Darkspear under the guild name Prey. Over time, the game changed, our lives changed, and how we raid/play this game has changed. Needless to say, we learned a lot about ourselves and the people that play this game, both positive and negative. I’m sure this applies to many of you, including those that know nothing of our history or guild in general.
Shortly after the release of Cataclysm, Prestige started 25M raids on BoT/BWD/TOT4W to moderate success. Soon after, the guild hit a bump in the road when a few of it’s main officers had drastic changes occur in their lives and needed to take some much needed time off/away from the game. While this wasn’t handled perfectly, time went on on and many of those involved moved on. We wish them the best, regardless of who they are/were.
Recently, a few of us decided that things in our lives have cooled down enough to begin reconstructing the ruins of Prestige back into a solid 25M raiding guild.
Our efforts are underway…
Our current target date to begin 25M raids is the week of Sept 19th.
The reason for this is simple, we need to recruit the proper class representation/mix required for a successful raiding experience, and until we have that, we will not begin 25M raids. Our goal is to achieve maximum success without the repeated and often simple mistakes of the past that have held us (and other guilds) back from progressing. Leading up to that, we will run 10M raids and begin evaluating people based strictly on their current performance and reliability, not who they know, what they claim to know or what they’ve done in the past. Also, if we acquire enough members before that date, we will begin 25M raids sooner than expected and evaluate people in a 25M setting.
We are looking for mature players that understand the basic point of the game (so many people do not), both simple and complex raid mechanics, and understand that while acquiring gear is an excellent short term personal goal, the most important goal is seeing success through end game content together, as a guild. Anyone with any sort of past experience understands that most gear comes easy in raiding guilds…and in a month or two needs to be replaced, so don’t make your time in this game strictly about gear. Whether you PVE or PVP, the point of this is to have fun and to find people you enjoy it with. In the end, if your goal is to cause drama, you will be dealt with swiftly and directly.
